Poets on the Roof Travel Dreams

Poets on the Roof Logo

Donald R. Anderson:

I'd like to visit New York, and a bookstore just for poetry, and Chicago, and Los Angeles at some zine distros, and to make more trips around San Francisco to stay there a while, and to visit Canada at their huge mall centers, and England at London and in the countrysides there, and tour the United States.

Patricia Ann Mayorga:

Patricia dreams of running barefoot across the green rolling hills of Ireland. A cold mug of brewster in an authentic pub sharing stories and poems with an Irishman ~ what a time she would have; dinner would be a true Irish pot pie and a warm cup of tea.
She dreams of kneeling in silence at the Sistine Chapel while praying the rosary for peace on Earth, especially for the lonesome who suffer in their silent world.

Marie J. Ross:

Marie wishes to turn down the cuff of Italy's boot, and travel its length from heel to toe.
She would shop the fashion boutiques of Milan, stare in awe at paintings and sculptures hung and profiled, in the magnificent museums of Florence.
She wants to recuperate in a Tuscan villa, watching beautiful landscapes open before her eyes as aromas from Tuscan kitchens vie for her appetite.
Stand in the middle of the Roman Forum and imagine ancient Romans busy at their daily lives, then, touch the archaic stones of the Colosseum, hear the roaring crowds, as gladiators fight to the very end.
The journey ended, she would sail to the tip of its boot, embark on the island of Sicily, to visit Palermo, where many movies interpreted a way of life, but, most of all, walk among ruins left behind by its many conquerors, especially Greek ruins she has seen in Athens and her island hopper trip to Mykonos and Santorini.

Julia Holzer:

Florence, Italy, because of the Renaissance art, B-I-R-T-H of creative genius.

Stephen M. Wilson:

Stephen has been lucky enough to have both visited (2001) and lived in (2003) his first choice destination—Buenos Aires. He has been to Canada several times (Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto). If he could choose anywhere now it would be the land of sushi, haiku, anime, and manga—Japan. Their amalgam of old-world culture and high-tech culture has always fascinated him.
